Almost two weeks ago we came to Mediclin, Bonn, hoping Georgiana could benefit by her saviour treatment. The medical investigations made here have lasted quite long, the doctors being surprised by the unexpected evolution of her health condition. I know I have a strong little girl who is struggling to survive but this result would not have been possible without the help of the Romanian doctors who took care of Georgiana. We thank once again from our hearts for all they had done for us!

The herein doctors have decided that the radiotherapy should not be applied at this illness stage of evolution. This intervention should be applied if other treatments easier to be tolerated would not have the forecasted results. They told us to follow chemotherapy treatment. We received all needed medical recommendations. Fortunately, the treatment can be made also in Romania and therefore, on the second Christmas day, we will be back home! By Georgiana’s health condition depends the moment when it may be necessary to return in Germany for medical investigations and reassessment of the treatment.

We send our thankful thoughts to you, all those who have been feeling with us during this time. Without you we could not manage to do this step!
And… we are waiting the day of tomorrow hoping we will be able to write in the diary how our life story will happily continue!

Day 8. Today, the doctor from the oncologic hospital has seen Georgiana. Tomorrow a medical meeting takes place in order to make a decision in what concerns the steps to be followed.
Tomorrow is a new day with new thoughts and hopes… The mother’s diary will be continued!

Day 7. We think to loved persons we left home. Georgiana misses her grandmother… In the morning I saw tears in her little eyes when thinking she is far away from home.
We are still worried: few hours remain until we will go to the oncologic hospital.

Day 6. It was wonderful! So wonderful that I dare to forget for a moment that we are here for the treatment of the terrible disease. My girl felt good at the playing area, although the cold weather made us huddle up.

Day 5. Four days are since we arrived in Bonn and Georgiana has already made friends in the hospital. Although for an adult an unknown foreign language may be an obstacle, for Georgiana this seems not to be applicable when communicating. Smiles and caresses are the best way to communicate with a child. She received a gift from her new friends in Germany: a “trip” to the nearby mall where she can play in the carousel. We thank everybody from the bottom of our hearts for this gift!

Day 4. We still receive phone calls from home from people who want to consider a donation. In this moment, “THANK YOU” cannot express our gratitude. We found out that at the beginning of the next week, me and my little girl will be transferred to an oncologic hospital also located in Germany. We are going to be accompanied by the doctor who cared Georgiana in Mediclin. Seven days remain until Christmas… Oh, God, please take care of my little girl! And please bless all those who are feeling with us, present us amounts of money or encourage us!

Day 3. The news are good!!! Our fear is dispelling. The brain tumour has the same size as after the last surgery, thus the girl’s health condition is considered to be very good! The treatment she made in Romania had good results. The herein doctors have recommended that the radiotherapy should not be applied at this illness stage of evolution. This intervention should be applied if other treatments easier to be tolerated by a 6 years old child have not the forecasted results. They told us that a chemotherapy treatment is more suitable, but this recommendation depends on the oncologist’s decision. Our prayers to God have been heard…

Day 2. Today, we have made additional medical investigations. We are so worried. What will be the doctors’ conclusion?

Day 1. We arrived in Bonn later in the evening. Although it was her first flight, the emotion of the journey did not disturb Georgiana too much. She is as cheerfully as she is at home. I told her that she is in holiday and we came in Germany to take some photos to her little head because the devices are more performant here. We managed to accommodate and we try to get accustomed to the place and people. First impression? Everything is very tidy and the doctors are so kind.

WHAT WONDERFUL NEWS!

Santa Claus came earlier this year to Georgiana: Tuesday, on December 15, she will go to Mediclin in Bonn, Germany, in order to follow her saviour treatment!
We are grateful to all of you who have answered to the demand of helping Georgiana: sending good thoughts, spreading the message through your friends and also presenting amounts of money.

Georgiana still needs our help to benefit from the full treatment in Germany. She needs around 5,000 EUR!

In the morning of December 4th, Georgiana was waiting for her friends’ help to raise 30,000 EUR, amount necessary for the abroad treatment. In the same day, she received the letter of admission from Mediclin to follow the treatment covered by E112 Form. The appointment was over a week. Her parents started preparing the documents, they lodged the file to the competent authorities and, because the disease of Georgiana is severe, the file was immediately approved. Usually, the authorities’ answer may last several months, but for Georgiana the answer came in few days.

The representatives of Mediclin informed that the additional costs which are not covered by E112 Form raise to about 2,000 EUR per each week spent in Germany. The estimated hospitalization period is ranging between 6 and 8 weeks.

Victorita and Cristian, Georgiana’s parents, thank you for your gift to feel with them and promise to keep us informed about the child’s evolution.
